Take advantage of one of today's many cleaning services. They offer full time cleaning services for those days when your schedule is too full to fit in house cleaning needs.

Regular cleaning services are available on weekly, or bi-weekly basis. The cleaning industry has two primary market groups: consumer and commercial.

The consumer arena consists primarily of residential maid services, along with carpet cleaners, window cleaners and a variety of other cleaning services required on a less-frequent basis.

The commercial arena is dominated by janitorial services, which typically provide a wider range of services than maid services, along with other cleaning companies, such as carpet and window cleaners that target businesses rather than individual consumers.

Cleaning Services currently employs around 200 cleaners, mostly on a part time basis, either early morning or evening. The cleaners carry out a daily cleaning service to almost any home, and office.

Cleaning Out Your Attic: The Fundamental Advantage Of Forgiveness

"Forgiveness means that you do not hold others responsible for your experiences." ~Gary Zukav

If you're like me, you have a garage or attic or basement full of junk--old clothes that don't fit or that are outdated, boxes of children's toys, paperwork you'll never need or even look at again. We have sentimental attachments to things that are just taking up space.

These items, while maybe not physically holding you back, may be psychologically holding you back. They are definitely weighing you down. And yet, unless you have a real problem with an overabundance of 'stuff', it's probably not that much of an issue.

What about the things you store in your mind? You'll find some memories there of the pleasures of living--weddings, anniversaries, births--maybe some sadnesses--deaths and loss. These are what make up a complete life, the highs and lows, ebb and flow. You've also got knowledge and appreciation up there, as well as all of your abilities--how to bake a cake, change your oil, ride a bicycle.

We've also got some junk up there. One of the fastest ways to get rid of this junk is the act of forgiveness. In an upcoming article I'll give you some specifics on how to use forgiveness to dispose of some of this useless garbage.

The ultimate purpose of forgiveness is not to make you a better person, it's not to benefit the person you're forgiving, and it's not even to make you right with God or work out your karma (though these are all side benefits of forgiving).

The real purpose is to clear out your other than conscious mind, to free it up from any negativity that is holding you back and preventing you from achieving everything you ever wanted.

'By beholding be become changed.' That's one of my favorite Bible quotes.

This means, that the more you focus on, the more you are going to become what that focus is. Are you focusing on creating money or on debt? Are you focusing on health or on sickness?

To focus on bitter feelings and hard knocks and tough life lessons, then that becomes a piece of us. One of the reasons we're here on planet earth, the school called earth, is to learn to understand we are in dominion, not domination, and we are able to have everything we ever wanted.

Try this: imagine you're dividing your unconscious into sections and lump all of the 'bad' parts--the troubles, difficulties, problems, resentments--into one section.

What percentage of your unconscious is being consumed by that mental garbage?

If you took it all and assigned it a value. . .a percentage, as in, well, 5% of my unconscious, or other than conscious, is taken up by this junk. How does that affect you to think of that large a chunk of your mind is engaged in negativity? What if you had to give 5% of your income to a really negative cause? I'm assuming that would not please you.

When we employ the process of forgiveness, we clear out that 1 or 5 or 15% and make space for more of what we want.

Coming soon: Part II--the process of forgiveness is mapped out for you.

Finding time to clean in a fast-paced environment has become more of a chore than ever. Women with hectic schedules can attest that convenience and effectiveness are key when dealing with the overabundance of stains, smudges, dirt and grime encountered daily. While cleaning is never a preferred activity, there are surefire methods to make the process less excruciating. Check out these helpful hints to save some extra time and energy:

Removing Red Wine Stains From Upholstery

There's nothing quite as unsightly as a red wine stain on a light-colored couch or love seat. To remove red wine stains from upholstery, simply blot the area with a paper towel and sponge with warm water to dilute the stain's concentration. Blot again and sprinkle talcum powder on the remaining stain. Let the powder stand for 2 or 3 minutes and then brush off. Repeat the sponging and blotting if the stain remains.

cleaning your dollhouse, dollhouse protection

We all have things in our lives that hold some sort of sentimental or monetary value. For some, it is a prized collection of coins or rare books. For others it is an irreplaceable antique or piece of jewelry. It is these things that always require special care and preservation, whether it is a yearly polishing or a consistent cleaning.

The same practice holds true for avid dollhouse collectors. Dollhouses are basically miniature replicas of a large-scale home, equipped with wood furnishings, electrical lights and even miniature pieces of china and crystal. Dollhouses, and their accessories, require the same kind of loving care that a regular home needs.

First of all, you should never place a dollhouse in a room that gets direct sunlight. The suns rays can heavily damage the delicate woods used in making most dollhouses. It can cause paint, wallpaper and fabrics to fade dramatically. And in extreme degrees of temperature changes, it could even end up warping or cracking the wood.

Another thing to keep in mind when caring for dollhouses is to always dust it regularly. Dust collects in our own homes on a daily basis, and the same holds true for dollhouses. All the accessories are so small and intricate that they require a good dusting and polishing to maintain their value and beauty. The dolls, animals or other small figurines you purchase for your dollhouse should also be dusted regularly to maintain their quality.

You should never store a dollhouse in damp climate. Dampness, such as in a basement, can deteriorate the materials used to make a dollhouse. It can also lead to mold development that can be difficult to remove or eliminate from fabrics or carpeting. You should also be weary of storing a dollhouse in the attic because moths or other household varmints could do damage to the house itself or its accessories.

Be sure to keep your dollhouse away from household pets. Pets love to chew and nibble on small objects, and what better chew toy than a piece of dollhouse furniture or a miniature figurine? Small children and toddlers should also be kept away from dollhouses. Children of this age like to put things in their mouths. The small accessories present a choking hazard to younger children who dont understand the value of what they are touching.

Not all dollhouses are going to be detailed enough to go to extreme measures of protection. But for most avid collectors, these precautions are necessary. In fact, one of the best ways to store a prized dollhouse is to have a special case made for it, usually from a clear material. This prevents dust from collecting on items inside the house and it keeps pets and small kids from touching it. And if you are a smoker, a case is a great way to keep smoke from tobacco away from the dollhouse.

Prized possessions need proper care, so it is best to stay on top of keeping your dollhouse in tip-top shape.

Shower Doors are a fantastic bathroom accent. Glass adds class and elegance to any bathroom, especially when it is sparkling clean. There are recommended ways to clean glass shower doors that will maintain sparkle and shine.

The number one recommended product for cleaning shower doors is Comet Bathroom Cleaner. Comet has developed a spray on liquid that is non-abrasive. This is especially important for glass, vinyl, and metal components of a shower door. It is a spray on liquid that is easy to apply and wipe off.

When using comet bathroom cleaner it is important to give the product time to work. Soap scum is a heavy buildup that comes from the talc in bar soap. Let the product set in and then scrub with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge. By switching to a liquid soap, soap scum build up can be greatly reduced.

Another important cleaning technique for shower doors is to squeegee after showering. It removes excess moisture from the shower and avoids water spots that can be difficult and almost impossible

If you are looking for a business venture to get into, then a cleaning business opportunity could be right up your street. In todays busy world more and more people are turning to hiring house cleaners to take care of their homes. The cleaning business provides several options and opportunities to start and run a successful full or part time business, big or small.

People want and need all types of cleaning, from regular full general house cleaners to laundry specialists, carpet and upholstery and janitorial services.

The cleaning business is one business which provides a vast array of opportunities to get your foot into the door of the business world.

Good general house cleaners are always in demand, with more people following careers rather than staying home, reliable, professional cleaners are worth their weight in gold. The lay out costs are relatively cheap, with cleaning materials, equipment and reliable transport being all thats really needed to get you started. Of course you will have to promote your business, but this can be done by advertising locally to begin with.

Another way to get into the cleaning business is to choose to go commercially. Hospitals, schools, restaurants and day care centres all rely on good hard working, professional cleaners to keep things in tip top shape. Although there will be a little more cost involved if you choose to go commercially the start up costs are still relatively small.

The hours you could work might differ from going into peoples homes, as offices, schools e.t.c could prefer night time or very early morning cleaners.

Specialist services such as carpet and upholstery cleaning is also another popular business to get into. The majority of these start out being run from home and then expand. The cheapest way to get into this specialist area is to start residentially rather than go for office cleaning, as this will need larger and more specialist equipment. Along with carpets many businesses also supply upholstery, fabric and drapery cleaning services.

As you can see there is a whole choice of cleaning business opportunities out there, its just a matter of choosing the one most suitable to you.

It is a good idea to think of your PC as an office. It stores files, programs, pictures. This can be compared to an actual office's files, machines and decorations. The operating system is the boss. With this image in mind, think of an office you've visited that was slow and inefficient. There were probably many different reasons for the inefficiency. This is the same with a computer. There can be many items that slow down your computer. Perhaps the one most commonly overlooked is disorganization and clutter.

Disk Cleanup

An office can accumulate a lot of unnecessary files, machines, and decorations. This is the same with your computer. One of the best ways to keep this clutter under control is to perform a cleaning utility periodically. In Windows this cleaning utility will be called a "disk cleanup." If you're interested in taking your expertise in the cleaning and maintenance fields, and investing money in a franchise opportunity, then you'll want to read this article. Specifically in this article we will discuss what it takes to make a sound decision in investing in franchise opportunities in the field of cleaning and maintenance. After reading this article, you should have a very good idea of whether or not this is an industry you should spend time researching.

Cleaning and maintenance franchise opportunities are perfect for entrepreneurs who'd like to work from home. There are a lot a home-based business opportunities out there in the cleaning industry. Most people who get into the cleaning business start their own business from home. However, if you have the capital to invest, it's a lot easier to purchase a franchise name the people know to get business.

For example, who would you feel more comfortable letting in your home, some guy with his own carpet cleaning business, or some on who runs a Servicemaster carpet cleaning business? This is the power of a franchise name.

The great thing about cleaning and maintenance franchise opportunities, is that there will always be a demand for them. Actually, because of heightened awareness of the toxins that are accumulating in homes, more people every day are turning to professional cleaners to make sure their house environment is safe. With this increase in demand, comes an increase in the likelihood of finding the franchise opportunity that will bring you profit.

Cleaning is a lot like opening a hair cuttery or a lawn service company, these are services that people will always need and want. When choosing a franchise opportunity, franchisees should focus on their customers needs and not their wants. Once you realize how to market to peoples needs, everything else just seems to come into place. For example, one of the best investments my father made was in a car rental franchise near the Atlanta airport. He realized people will always NEED to rent cars coming to the airport, so he knew it was a sound investment. Cleaning and Maintenance services will always be needed no matter the state of the economy.

Finally, if you're interested in investing in cleaning and maintenance franchise opportunities, make sure you do your homework on the company before you sign any franchise agreement. In addition to making sure they have a profitable business model, you need good customer support. Many opportunities offer ongoing training and live support, to help you when you first start your business. They want you to succeed as much as you want to succeed, because they want to carry on their brand name.

In conclusion, the cleaning and maintenance industry is growing, and is perfect for people who have an interest for things related to this industry. By understanding the importance of choosing the right franchise name, and having solid customer support in addition to a strong business model, you will make a wise decision if you invest in a cleaning and maintenance franchise opportunity.

Same is with floors. The maintenance of the floors is better done when you clean them in the required and the technical way.

Because floors are so impenetrable, they are easy to keep clean. Most, if not all, polish will not stick to their surface area. All that is really compulsory is vacuuming, dust mopping, and maybe a damp towel at times.

* Damp mop using warns water; do not flood floor.

Getting a Child to Clean their Room

I have had a lot of experience with getting a child to clean their room. Each child is different and what works with one will not work with another. Some children dont need help in this area, this article is written for the ones that do. Rewards and punishments work for some children, but not for others. Some children look at a messy room and have no idea how to begin cleaning it. For kids that are just completely overwhelmed, here are some ideas for helping them.
Break down the job into different areas. For example, have your child pick up all the books in the room. When that is done, have them put all the clothes in a pile. Breaking down the mess into small messes helps make the job more manageable.
Make a game out of cleaning. Set a time limit for different items and see what they can clean up the fastest. Write down the times and find out which items was the easiest to clean.
Pull everything together in one big pile. Have your child pick out the biggest item from the pile and put that away first. Or find everything that is the color red and put that away. Sometimes just cleaning up in a different way is all it takes to get the job done.
Setting rewards and punishments can work sometimes, but helping your child learn how to manage the mess and get it cleaned timely is the key to success every time. Teaching them how to clean their room saves you from harassing them every day to get it cleaned. And it can give your child a great sense of accomplishment once they are done.

We almost always (99% of the time) stop at a Blue canoe in Falmouth to gas up, get soft-drinks, and do our business. Why? Immaculate rest-rooms.

How many public restrooms have you been in that were a disaster? And don't they give you a horrible impression of the establishment?

I can tell you that one of the swankiest malls in Boston has filthy, foul-smelling bathrooms. It's one of those places that you need a second mortgage to buy a pair of shoes. You can't tell me that the can't afford an extra few hundred dollars a week to keep their bathrooms spotless. It's simply laziness and a lack of appreciation for the fact that every shopper - even the wealthy ones - have to pee.

As a marketing tool, a gas station with an sparkling rest-room is a huge differentiator. I can tell you that there are frequently lines to use the rest room at this

Usually, the crafter begins with new pots. The pots are often decorated with paint as well as being tied together with rope or cord to create things.

Pots for clay pot crafts can be purchased in many different sizes, from tiny ones not more than 2 inches in diameter, to huge ones over a foot across. For a beginning project, start with smaller pots. The beginner should also choose clay pot crafts that don't use too many pots in too elaborate a design.

An example of a good craft for someone new at clay pot crafts is to make a bell from two clay pots. Buy one pot that is about five or six inches in diameter, and another that is very small. You will use the small one as the clapper for the bell. You will also need some decorative cord, two large wooden beads, and paint in desired colors.

French toast is yet another option -; a special but very economical option. In the Cajun areas of Louisiana, French toast is called pain perdu, lost bread. Long ago, thrifty cooks discovered they could rescue day-old (or older) bread which otherwise would have been wasted by soaking it in a mixture of eggs and milk before cooking it. When it's dressed up with a topping, though, who would ever guess that French toast had such a practical origin?

Although many folks consider French toast a breakfast food, you can serve this popular dish for any time of the day. For a cla

term papers on classroom management

When developing classroom plans and teaching methods, many teachers use collaborative learning techniques. This generally involves intergroup learning and the use of verbal interaction. Where the teacher is not just teaching, rather giving the students an opportunity to learn through interpersonal interaction. Some use peer groups for classroom management, thereby creating more time for personal interaction with individual students. Others use this teaching strategy to enhance students' motivation by making class work more "fun." Still others believe that collaborative learning can provide valuable opportunities for students to work together across ethnic and gender lines, thereby facilitating friendships. All of these reasons for the use of collaborative group work are worthy goals in classroom instruction. Seldom, however, is conceptual learning the primary goal behind the use of collaborative group techniques.

Following is a classroom plan that enables effective classroom management of time, and organization of activities for children.

Prepare a schedule that allows time for learning as well fun and activities. Rearrange the daily schedule, go outside to read, give clipboards to students and go outside to draw, have a theme day. For instance for every first Monday of the Month, students can come dressed in the colors of the rainbow, or for older students, they come dressed creatively in some historical attire and bring along something that they have that relates to that attire. Discussing these makes a good start for the day. These are of course just ideas and leave room for the teachers ingenuity. Begin the day with bell work, which is an introductory task or activity that should get them into the learning mode. From then on the lesson plan can be followed with regular fun intervals and breaks.

Ask the students to write once or twice a week: What did you learn today? for instance, and also take them outside on the school grounds and ask them to study something specific, be it the actions of a gardener, a butterfly or even the different kinds of flowers in the garden. Then ask them to write about them. This provides for the leisure and fun time activities.

When passing out tests or worksheets or notices, write the names of absent students on the papers left. When students arrive to begin the day, have them remove everything that will be needed during the day. Have a rule: NO one may get into a backpack during the day. Write a red M in the top right corner on all Master copies. This will distinguish the Master from a copy very easily and prevent accidentally passing out the master to a student. Always spend the last few minutes of the day and review: Hopefully, when parents ask about the day, students will have an answer other than "Nothing!"

In addition in particular classroom activities can be assigned to different students individually or in pairs. For instance someone can be made the monitor, to clean the blackboard, someone can be the chair stacker, someone can be the timekeeper etc. This way the small tasks that need to be completed through the class are managed by the students enabling them to take responsibility.

One key here that adheres to the theories on classroom management by Howard Glasser and Dreiker, is that of collaborative and verbal interaction learning. Throughout the class time students should be involved with verbal interaction with the teacher. The day should be planned such that it gives time and opportunity for all different students to have a special moment. Some experts believe that every student can have a focus week, where he/she gets a few minutes in the beginning of every class to share his life with the students. It not only aids in interpersonal learning, as well as linguistic learning, but it also makes the students feel special.

Classified advertising popularity seriously growing. Traffic to the largest classified advertising websites has grown by almost 70% in the last year 2007,according to new research.

Traffic to the largest classified advertising websites has grown by almost 70% in the last year, according to new research.
Research says 57.4 million US users visited the top consumer-to-consumer ad sites in August,
a rise of 57% over the same month in 2007.
Craigslist was the most popular, doubling its unique visitors to almost 16 million during the month. Trader Publishing , the leader in July 2007, ranked second with 17.2 million visitors (up 25%), while AutoTrader ranked third with 8.4 million visitors (up 24%)."
While online classifieds are not new, it appears that internet users are really beginning to catch on to this phenomenon. With nearly 60 percent growth in the past year, online classifieds are growing at a rate that surpasses most other categories.
As the category leader, Craigslist has clearly impacted the way in which new and traditional media companies approach the classifieds business. Research said a higher than expected proportion of visitors came from among younger professionals. People between the ages of 25 and 35, and those in households making at least US $90,000 annually, were each 27% more likely than average to visit classified sites.
Classified advertising is a truly great business building tool you can use to generate dozens and dozens of leads for your service business.
Whether your target market(s) is based locally or further away there are publications, trade magazines, newsletters, and newspapers that will be read by your prospects. Placing small ads in the classified advertising section of these publications will generate leads for you.
The great news is that classified advertising even with large publications is relatively inexpensive.
But of course it's not how much it costs that's important. What's important is how much profit you generate from using classified advertising.

The downhill slide of daily journalism began decades ago, when television introduced nightly news programs on both a national and local level. That decline, however, has been radically accelerated by the advent of online classified advertising. Craigslist has probably been the most important development for local classified advertising. This simple, unadorned website provides free listings for most of its classifieds, selling only placements for job opportunities.

Classifieds have always been the bread and butter for newspapers, providing the lion's share of black ink. Yet by three years ago, Craigslist had become a principal local resource for job recruiters. Research organization Classified Intelligence reported two years ago that Craigslist costs the San Francisco Bay Area's traditional newspapers, and their online divisions, between $50 and $65 million annually in revenues from employment ads alone.

According to the study, Craigslist had 12,200 active job listings on its San Francisco site the week of November 21, 2004. In contrast, the San Francisco Chronicle had 1,500; the Oakland Tribune had 734; the San Jose Mercury News had an estimated 1,700; and the Contra Costa Times had around 1,000. The average recruiting ad in a metro Bay Area daily cost $700 in 2004: on Craigslist it cost $75.

That's a local snapshot. The same is occurring at a national level, also in the critical area of job recruiting. is the largest job search and recruitment site in the country - it is also owned by a partnership of the Gannett, McClatchy and Tribune newspaper conglomerates. defined the art of national job recruiting. There are also elaborate online executive recruiting services that mix the traditional personal touch with digital resume files and client searches.

By 2003, online classifieds had nearly matched the newsprint business in classified revenue. In that year, the market for classified ads in the United States was $15.9 billion (newspapers) and $14.1 billion (online), again according to Classified Intelligence.

There is a widespread belief that the online classifieds are more effective with younger people and the more in-depth advertising probably belongs in print. JupiterResearch, another online ad research firm, says that a lot of people research cars online, for example, because it's a great price-check resource. Jupiter goes on to say that only 1 in 10 will shop for cars on the Internet. This analytical point overlooks the fact, however, that many people who do their auto shopping with shoe leather are going to dealers that they may have selected online.

The tools for online classifieds provide easy shopping methods and, generally, more information on the sales item. Photos are easily included as well. The trend is expected to continue in all advertising formats, but especially in the classified arena. In Jupiter Research's "U.S. Local Online Advertising Forecast, 2005 to 2010," the forecast is that spending in the U.S. for online local advertising will grow at an annual compounded rate of 11 percent, or from 2005 to 2010. Seventy percent of that revenue will come from classifieds.

A reflection of the trend at the national level is that one of the primary reasons for Google's $500-per-share stock valuation is the fact that their business model garnered them over $9 billion in revenue in 2006. The preponderance of that money was generated by text based classified advertising, developed through partnerships or through the sale of keyword placements.

Readership for traditional dailies does skew to the older generation, especially now that job recruiting has become such an effective online function. But even with high-end, family oriented purchases such as homes, online advertising often outshines its printed counterpart. The real estate sales bible, the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) is readily available to consumers online - for the first time. The major brokerage chains all have national sites and nearly all local brokers use the web as well.

Classified Advertising in Local Markets

Even with the growth of online classifieds, newspaper classifieds are still the preferred method of advertising for many wishing to sell unwanted items. Most newspapers have a large local circulation and the chances of completing a sale through the newspaper greatly increase since the product can easily be obtained. Advertising in the newspaper classifieds and locating a buyer within your locality can very well be the key to a successful transaction.

Even with the growth of online classifieds and the increase in popularity in sites such as Craigslist, newspaper classifieds are still the preferred method of advertising for many wishing to sell unwanted items. This is evident in the number of print classified ads listed daily in newspapers and magazines throughout the country and worldwide. These advertisements may cost more than those which can be posted on the Internet, however, posting your classified advertisements in the newspaper will likely increase the chance of a sale as you are reaching a more local market. It is unlikely that someone from across the country or around the world will want to purchase your used furniture, lawn mower or Kenmore washer and thus much of the traffic that would come to your Internet ad would be useless. Classical ballet

Classical Ballet

Considered by many as one of the most formal styles of ballet, classical ballet uses certain techniques and features that is unique to this form of dance style alone. People who wants to learn this type of dance usually start at an early age, mainly because younger people are more flexible, hence, are easier to train for this type of dance style. They can easily adapt to the physical demands of the dance, and are more capable of pushing their bodies to be able to perform the techniques and dance routines they need to do. Aside from that, ballet also involves a certain kind of mystique about it, making it appear magical to most people.

History

Ballet actually made its mark back in the 18th century, and has been given the prestige as the operas during that time. Jean-Georges Noverres seminal work actually allowed ballet dancers to partake in plays as they were used to assist in the narration of the story by expressing character. Back then, the ballet dancers were made to wear corsets, wigs, hoops and high heels. Later on, ballet then got featured as interludes in operas.

It wasnt until the 19th century that ballet really experienced a great social change, as it was during this period that new techniques in ballet were introduced, such as the pointework, thereby propelling the ballet dancer into a symbol for a stage figure. This was also the time that ballet shoes or slippers were invented. Later on, they developed this persona as being delicate unearthly creatures that had the ability to simply glide or float on stage.

Classical Ballet Style

Classical ballet is known for putting a lot of emphasis on execution and method of how the dancer moves. They can appear as if they are defying the laws of gravity wherein they create a perception that they are flying on stage as they dance. They may even give the illusion that they are hovering.

Female Ballet Dancer Outfit

When training or dancing classical ballet, women are supposed to wear a typical ballet outfit, which basically comprises of a flesh, pink or blue colored tights and a leotard of any color and style. A wrap-skirt is not necessary, but students can still opt to wear it if they like. They wear flats, which are sometimes referred to as soft technique shoes, and are pink or beige in color. They may also wear pointe shoes, but only after receiving a certain level of training.

Male Ballet Dancer Outfit

Men, on the other hand, basically wear the same thing in the sense that they wear tights and a leotard or a form-fitting shirt. They also wear flats, or soft technique shoes, which are black or white in color.

Ballet Training

In classical ballet, there are over seven different training styles that classical ballet dancers could go through, the most common of the training styles being the Vaganova method, Royal Ballet School method, Balanchine Method, Cecchetti method, and the Royal Academy of Dance method.

When ballet dancers train, they are required to acquire a certain level of skill and strength, and these factors will later on dictate what level of ballet he or she would be able to do. For example, ballet schools do not actually allow their ballet dancers to wear pointe shoes, not until they reach a certain age, and if they are able to meet the skill and strength requirement that they need for their age and body type.

Wearing of pointe shoes at such an early age before the dancer is actually ready, both skill-wise and strength-wise, then the dancer might experience some form of injury or damage to her feet later on. This is why ballet dancers go through a rigorous training regimen, especially since strength and skill is needed to be able to dance this particular style.

Classical ballet training

Theater Arts Classical Ballet

Classical ballet is a type of ballet. Training in Classical Ballet requires dedication for strenuous workouts and a strong lower body. The styles of classical ballet training can be divided into seven types. The most famous ones are Vaganova or Russian method, Balanchine or American method, Royal or English method, Cecchetti or Italian method, Royal Academy of Dance method.

Dancers usually wear white, black, pink and flesh colored tights and a leotard. The styles and colors of the leotard can vary according to the storyline. The leotard garment has been named after the french acrobat Jules Leotard who made it famous. The shoes worn by dancers are very important as they will have a direct impact on the feet of the dancer and can also cause harm to them. During the course of time different kinds of shoes have been made for ballet dancers. At first the dancers are made to work on soft technique shoes rather known as flat shoes. Once the bones are no longer fragile and have become strong and mature enough the dancers are made to practice on Pointe shoes. The tutu is not a must though it can be used to bring in royalty with crochet sequenced wrap skirt.

Pointe shoes, if not worn properly and on proper time can cause intense damage and sometimes disability to the dancer especially if high impact dancing is done. Before starting to wear them, its very essential to get a thorough bone structure diagnosis done by the doctors. Although the ballet trainers might be of some help but they cannot outdo the doctors who are more familiar with the anatomy of the body. The hardness of the bones of not only ankles, but also knees, hips, arms and back should be checked along with the check of muscle density. Its advised that you should start wearing the Pointe shoes after sixteen. After starting their use the dancers should practice vigorously for long hours to build their strength. If compared to all other kinds of sports football is the only game which requires more strength than ballet.

Nearly eighty percent of ballet dancers get injured at some point of time while performing. Some movements are so out of the natural range that it can lead to unhealthy stress on the body and if not done correctly can result in serious consequences. Many beginners get knee injuries and shin splits if they dont do the plying, which is deeply bending the knees in a correct way. Warm up exercises should be done before starting the practice or performance. Other surrounding conditions should be taken care of and things like hard floor, cold temperature and uncomfortable clothes should always be avoided.

Another major issue with the ballet dancers is that they are expected to have a slim figure and should be on the lighter side because some dances require the dancers to create an illusion of floating. So as to maintain a beautiful body, the dancers start dieting and sometimes develop eating disorders such as bulimia, anorexia or nervosa. Sometimes to keep away from eating and to control their weight many dancers switch to smoking. They find this method less stressful and thats the reason why forty percent of the ballet dancers both men as well as women are smoker. This is a serious health issue which has serious consequences later on in life. If the dances control their diets to the farthest extent they are also on the danger of risking the strength required.

But when done correctly and according to the rules, it can act as a great strength training program. Many athletes take ballet part time classes to make their bones and muscles more strong and body more flexible. But the ballet dancers have very tough competition and job security is also very low. This adds to their stress.

Other dance forms such as modern ballet, contemporary ballet and hip hop dance are basically inspired works from classical ballets.

Classic TV Shows on DVD Bring Laughter to the Next Generation

Classic television shows are popular once again thanks to the growing number of shows available on DVD and video.
This article discusses the the growing interest in classic television shows and how it is sparked by the availability of these shows on DVD and video.

classic television dvds, classic tv, classic television shows, classic TV DVDs

In recent years, it has become a growing trend to buy and watch classic television shows on DVD for your family entertainment. The availability of some of the all-time favorite classic TV shows on DVD and video has become pervasive throughout the U.S. This allows families to not only catch up on the past seasons of the television shows that they might have missed, but to go back to the classics that we and our parents grew up watching. It is now easier than ever to find seasons of shows that were produced 30 or 40 years ago, right alongside the DVDs of the television shows that are currently on the air. America seems to have become infatuated with remembering the characters and situations produced during the early years of television. What are the reasons for the increased popularity of classic television shows?

Classic television enthusiasts represent a large market of consumers. There were many classic sitcoms and variety shows that were aired between the 50s, 60s and 70s, that represent not only a large generation of viewers but a very powerful time in American history. They speak for the events of that age and include social and political commentary that goes right along with when they were made. Therefore, they are nostalgic entertainment and fun to relive. For those that watched these shows when they originally aired, classic TV DVDs allow them to relive that time in their life. For those that were too young to watch them when they first ran, DVDs allow them to appreciate the classics as new entertainment.

Classic television shows now available on DVD and video have created a new way to ensure that these memories are not lost. As more and more popular televisions shows became available on DVD in the 90s, there became a growing interest to see older television sitcoms on DVD as well. Shows like ER, Star Trek and The Simpsons were being sold at a tremendous rate which led to more and more people asking what happened to the other shows they once loved. Few television networks are able to show classic television programs which left a large gap of potential entertainment untapped and potentially gone forever. Without the DVD releases of these shows, the newer generations would have little knowledge about the early time in television history. But by allowing the distribution of these old sitcoms and variety shows through DVD, all generations can watch and love some of the classic shows and entertainers. Sonny and Cher, Donny and Marie and the comedic genius of Bob Hope can now be watched, remembered and cheris

In general, home entertainment and the purchase of DVDs has become one of the most popular entertainment expenditures for the American home. With televisions and DVD players become more sophisticated and movie tickets become more expensive, homes are opting to outfit their home to take on the task of keeping the family entertained. This means that more and more shows and movies to watch are also necessary. There is no shortage of network television to watch but there is a shortage on time to watch them all. When families know that they can purchase an entire season of a television shows on DVD in three to six months, they will do so. More and more we are finding families picking up classic television DVDs to watch because they werent able to watch them when they aired originally. With the television DVD market, it is now possible to follow the storylines of television shows that are on at exactly the same time. This is something that wasn't possible even ten years ago.

Classic television shows are put onto DVDs so that a whole new generation of fans can watch them. Imagine a company that can make money off of a television series even twenty years after it aired. It no longer matters if a television show is currently on the air or not. With the new trend for putting classic television DVDs in consumers hands, classic shows are able to have a second chance at life. Some viewers can find shows from their childhood and enjoy the nostalgia that goes along with them, or they can teach their own children about the shows that they used to love. In the past, once a television show was no longer on the air, there was no way to see it again. However, now shows can be enjoyed over and over again. These shows are important to many viewers in lots of different ways and by putting these classic television shows on video and DVD, they can be popular for years to come.

Enter Classic television show collectibles into your Google-powered search engine and you will find around 170,000 possibilities.

Run through a few of those results and you will find everything from classic television DVDs, lunch boxes, costumes, watches, salt and pepper shakers, vintage posters, and dolls. A quick search on Amazon.com found The Best of Donny and Marie (DVD) Volume 1 (1976). There are websites and online stores whose sole purpose is to sell classic television paraphernalia. These sites are capitalizing on the baby boomers affinity for nostalgia. Collectors are scooping up the vintage collectibles.

There are companies who are bringing back the collectibles by manufacturing New Vintage collectibles. New metal lunch boxes with Donny and Marie, Superman, The Flintstones, Scooby Doo, and even the Dukes of Hazzard are popping up all over the place. With true vintage lunch boxes going for hundreds of dollars, these replacements, although lacking authenticity, are an affordable option for those who just want to revisit the good old days of classic television.

The release of classic TV DVDs has made it possible for people to sit back and enjoy hours of their favorite shows from yesterday. The appeal of these shows for many is the down-home nature of the comedy. They dont rely on profanity, off-color remarks, or blatant sexual angles for their humor. They remind us of a simpler time. Donny and Marie, Sonny and Cher, The Partridge Family, The Waltons, The Brady Bunch, and many more shows take us back to a time when it was okay to say things like Gosh and Golly. It was more than okay to love your family and country. It was expected. It was safe to turn on the television with the family and enjoy a nice show together.

The collectibles associated with these shows are gaining in popularity. As many from those generations begin to find more time for hobbies and have a little extra disposable income, the collectibles are becoming more desirable. Donny and Marie dolls, which were released in August 1976 with an accompanying TV Studio, are popular finds. Sonny and Cher costumes are popular at costume parties. The Partridge Family memorabilia is making a strong comeback, as well.

Some of these classic television shows are enjoying a rebirth due to remakes of the originals. The Brady Bunch surged forward after a new generation was exposed to a less-than authentic version of the show in the 1995 version. Even with the tongue-in-cheek style of this movie, many people began seeking authentic Brady Bunch memorabilia and collectibles. The market for these items soared. The same held true for the Scooby Doo collectibles after the 2002 release of the movie. This one was so popular a sequel was made. This remake has brought about a whole new market for Scooby Doo collectibles, new and old alike. After the movie was released classic Scooby Doo DVDs were flying off the shelves. With the popularity of these classic television remakes it is not unrealistic to expect many more to follow.

As with any commodity, as the demand increases, the price will rise. Many collectors search for pieces to round out their collection for a more intrinsic value, rather than simply price. A collection of classic television show collectibles may be worth a substantial amount of money, but it is the nostalgia that holds the true value. You cant put a price on the memories those collectibles will elicit, or the feelings locked deep inside that are released when you hold that Donny and Marie lunchbox just like the one you had as a kid.

To find that special classic TV DVD or other collectible it may be as simple as hitting search on your search engine. Whether it is a find at a garage sale or a purchase off the web, it is the joy of releasing that inner child and finding that peace that simple joys bring that makes classic television collectibles true treasures.

Sonny and Cher, Donny and Marie and the comedic genius of Bob Hope can now be watched, remembered and cherished
